Final Project: Mapping a Guide to Carletons Arb

The final project I worked on entailed creating an interactive map tool accessible through a website centered around sharing different recreational activities in the Carleton Arboretum. My central focus was on creating a simple and intuitive user interface for our users to interact with when faced with a pretty in-depth tool. With the help of team members, we decided which WordPress theme to use that would maximize user experience and a layout that made navigation simple. I am interested in experimenting with user experience design, so this project allowed me to explore that through trial and error. In the end, the website included interactive mapping tools that detail trails and recreation points of notable importance, a history of recreation in the arb, our methods page, and finally, a tool to leave comments so that people can share their arb experiences on the website. This project simultaneously allowed me to explore an interest of mine that I want to develop further and help allow others to utilize this really cool application with all devices.
