This process was very interesting. It is really cool to connect the object we had 3D modeled to its geographic location, and I think it helps us understand the object much better. For DH work in general, I think this type of analysis can provide a lot of information to readers. Also, the ArcGIS online platform in particular was very useful and easy to geographically plot our data. All it took was uploading a simple csv file into the ArcGIS online software and then we had our map. This allowed us to view the movement of the object over time, which adds so much more character to the object than just viewing it in the museum or as a 3D render.
I would definitely recommend this addition to any museum object, especially if it is 3D rendered online, so viewers can easily follow its timeline.
