I think the potential for GIS-mapping is very high! Even on a simple mapping project like we did it is easy to learn a lot about the object we are mapping. I think it’s so cool that our horse model has been all around the world!
After looking over Arc-GIS’s website I saw some very cool examples of the ways people have used their software. I liked this one of Los Angeles and I enjoyed exploring all the map themes here. It seems like they make it very easy to make complicated, useful, and good looking maps. I could see city officials using a service like this to improve their services or even a restaurant that want to get a better feel for their customer base. For DH work, it seems as if almost any mapping project would benefit from using this service.
