I found the process of web mapping to be fairly simple, though I wasn’t doing anything too advanced. At the same time, I do think it has value for digital humanities work, in that it provides an easy and understandable way to share information with a general audience, provided geographically relevant information is being shared. I think that ArcGIS is a particularly useful platform for this because it is both easy to use on a basic level and able to be customized, allowing for control over how these maps are presented aesthetically.
