Spelunking the Cave – Group Charter

What are your shared values? Shared goals?

Our goal is to create a digital humanities project about the Cave, but also analyzing music tastes and connections at Carleton. So we are all interested in the Cave and music, whether we are musicians or just enjoyers.

Margie: My favorite type of music is folk music, but I will really listen to anything from pop to classical.

Ryan: I like most types of music but especially pop, classical, and country.

Nelson: I love listening to smaller rock and punk artists.

Nora: I like almost every genre.

Vanessa: I mostly listen to alt pop and indie rock.

What will you expect from each other?

Everyone put in effort, communicate what you’re doing, do the things you said you will do on time. Listen to each other and help each other out.

How will you communicate?

Text group chat (Whatsapp)

How will your team handle disagreement?

We will talk through our problems and try to understand the other side and compromise. If it becomes something that we can’t handle on our own, we can bring Austin in to help us.

How will you divide responsibilities? Is someone responsible for calling meetings? Cleaning data? Assess and share your own strengths and weaknesses?

Each person will mainly be in charge of one thing, but we will help each other out throughout the process.

Nelson: I’m excited to look through archival documents, footage and The Cave’s many records(including Instagram) to see what bands played.

Margie: I’m excited to help organize the overarching theme of the project, helping us keep our deadlines and making sure we meet all the requirements.

Nora: I’m excited to find an interactive, aesthetically pleasing way to present our findings.

Vanessa: I’d like to help with going through the archives and compiling the available information, as well as looking up extra data that may be needed.

Ryan: I can research the history of the cave and its evolution, and extract the coolest facts.
