R studio specifically is a platform where you can write R code. It is a tool statistical programmers. There are many uses for the tool. For example you can be use to graph data from a spreadsheet, run statistical tests and clean data. My experience with it primarily comes from my introductory statistics class at Carleton College.

If you are interested in learning more about R I suggest checking out the following pages.
https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/r-release/R-intro.pdf This source is a complete documentation on R studio.
Another great resource is https://www.math.carleton.edu/RLabManual/introduction.html#introduction. This source is Carleton Introduction to Statistics handbook for how to use R studio. It has been super helpful to me when learning the ropes.

I don’t know that much about programming languages so it was fun to learn about a new one. I also really appreciated it being in video format because I learn best with a combination of images and audio. Really interesting!
I really liked your tutorial because it was in video format making it pretty easy for me to understand what you were talking about. R definitely bridges the gap between the humanities and statistics. Nevertheless, I feel that software like Microsoft Excel is also a very powerful statistical tool. A huge reason why people might feel more comfortable with Excel is that it requires no coding. What do you say is unique about R that makes it different from statistics software like Excel?
The video is different from my usual methods to learn a new coding language (websites), but this felt very informative and concise. I don’t know any R, but this helped me gain a foundation, and it’s cool that the math department has its own tutorial too.
